Spider mites are a global pest in nearly all crops. Their great reproductive capacity enables them to cause enormous damage in a short period of time. In many crops the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae, is the most serious pest. Spidex is used to control the two-spotted spider mite. They are very effective predators that will hunt and kill all life stages of the spider mites. Relative humidity should be greater than 75% and the temperature range should be between 60°F – 85°F, optimal temperature being 68°F. Biological beneficials have a very short life expectancy and therefore need to be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after receipt. Storing them for a period of time can have a very negative impact on their quality. Appearance: Adults: bright red, very active, spherical, stands high on its legs. Eggs: oblong, first pink and transparent, later on darker, twice as big as spider mite eggs. Larvae/nymphs: pale to light red. Mode of action: Adult predatory mites and nymphs search actively for their prey and suck them dry. The introduction rates of this product should be adjusted to the mode of action of the product and the results that can be expected in the crop where the product is applied. Koppert is not liable for any loss of quality if the product is stored after receipt or introduced under incorrect conditions. Please report any issues within 24 hours of delivery.
